OpenMP can be used for computers with multiple cores. Intel and AMD are making CPU with more cores since it is getting harder and harder to increase the speed of one CPU. The computer with multi-cores is like a parallel computer with shared memory. Multiple threads can make use of multi-core structure to speed softwares up. computing of independent variables can be done at the same time. Multiplication of vector and matrix can be accelerated.
